About William Engle

William (Bill) Engle was born and raised in Southern California and completed his schooling in this area. He graduated with both a Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree, from California State University at Fullerton. While in college, he was selected as one of “the top 20” students on campus for his academic and public speaking competition achievements. He won the 1966 National Collegiate Speech Championships.

Before, during and after attending college, Bill also served as a Police Officer in Orange County. He graduated Honor Student from the Orange County Peace Officer’s Academy, while simultaneously carrying a full-time college course-load; and, was named Rookie of the Year his first year on the force. It was during these years that Bill accumulated a wide degree of interaction with people from all levels of life, and formed an understanding of the pain people experience on a daily basis...and the ability to effectively communicate with these people. While on the Police Department, Bill received four Letters of Commendation for Police Action considered Above and Beyond the Call of Duty. During this time, Bill taught Law Enforcement at Cypress Community College. He also achieved the rank of "Distinguished Expert" in pistol shooting, the highest rank achievable. This made him “First Responder” to any calls which included a perpetrator having a firearm and the possibility of using it against law enforcement. Mr. Engle also received a Letter of Commendation after leaving the Police Department, when as a citizen; he spontaneously participated in a police chase of a felon and “tackled” and captured the felon himself.

Shortly after completing his Master’s Degree course work, Bill resigned from the Police Department to pursue professional acting and directing as a career. After some success in motion pictures and television (40 year member of Screen Actor’s Guild); and as a professional comedy writer, Mr. Engle began work as a senior business executive, holding Profit and Loss responsibilities for several large companies. He achieved general management experience in strategic planning, procurement, multi-site distribution, logistics, supply chain management, sales and turnarounds of under-achieving companies. He became known as a turnaround specialist, able to initiate change and create synergy between diverse departments to achieve company objectives. He was a hands-on team leader with excellent mentoring and team-building skills; creating a track record of achieving company stability and viability through continuous improvement processes. Eventually, Bill accepted a position with 20th Century Fox Filmed Entertainments in West Los Angeles. Several promotions later, he was Executive Director of Materials Management and Chief of Security for Fox; managing over 310 people and 11 different departments. While at Fox, Bill wrote, directed and produced educational films for other organizations and won both the coveted Dove Award and the Golden Apple Award; given for outstanding achievements in educational films. Bill is currently retired from 20th Century Fox, but continues his acting (over 58 leading roles in stage productions) and public speaking activities. He currently teaches Traffic Violator’s School through the Orange County Judicial System (for 14 years), and teaches several workshops through both city community services programs and Purpose Driven Hypnotherapy offerings. He also continues his love in acting and directing on a community level.

Mr. Engle is a Certified Clinical Master Hypnotherapist, with over 21 years experience in the field of Hypnosis. He graduated with Honors from the renowned Hypnosis Motivation Institute, the only nationally accredited school of Hypnosis in America. He was awarded the HMI Director’s Award, “For Exceptional Professional Achievement during Clinical Residency;” and the HMI Academic Achievement Award, “For Remarkable Performance and Achievements.” He is a member of the Honor Roll Society at HMI with a GPA of greater than 4.0. Bill is a member of American Hypnosis Association and has been certified by the Hypnotherapist Union Local 472, Certification #AL01151.

Using his extensive and varied background, Bill is able to quickly establish solution focused approaches to help restore his clients to a sense of well-being and self-acceptance. He has felt blessed with the ability to reach out and assist the foreign language speaking community as well as English speaking. He works with translators in hypnosis of people who only speak Spanish, Vietnamese and Chinese languages to date; with outstanding results, especially with alcohol and drug abuse, self-esteem and self-confidence issues ... that sometimes plague those who find themselves in a land where their native language is not spoken universally.

His Police background is very helpful in communicating with those in society that have heretofore been out of step by many community standards through nothing more than a negatively programmed subconscious mind. Able to establish immediate rapport because “pretty much wherever you’ve been, I’ve been,” Bill uses hypnosis very successfully to overcome fears, change bad habits, assist with behavior modification, weight loss, smoking cessation, drug and alcohol abuse, and much, much more. The inclusion of Energy Therapy (EFT) into his approach assures virtual and immediate freedom for his client from phobias, addictions, anxieties and performance constraints.

Bill’s creative history has also had a positive impact on his hypnotherapy practice. Whether one is creating a piece of art, a method of commerce, a meal for our families, a lifestyle or self-definition, each choice we make is “creative.” The more people come to understand and accept their creativity, right down to the choices made in their perceptions, the more personal power they begin to recognize and own. By accessing and “reprogramming” the subconscious mind via positive suggestions and vivid images of change, Bill is able to reach and alter the very foundations of creative expression.
